God sure knows when we need some encouragement. Thank you to those parent's who "get" what B & Coach Daniels are doing. This prayer is from one of the players' dad......
Dear Coaches Daniels and Nicol,
I am praying for you and this is my prayer.
Dear Lord,
First of all, thank you so much for two wonderful men who love the kids they are coaching, but more importantly, love you Lord, with all their heart, soul, mind and strength. I knew that they would be the main influence on my son's life for the next four years, last year when we sat in Coach Daniels' office and bowed our heads to pray for guidance in ~ decision about where to go to school. I thank you that they have such a passion for what they do and that they don't hold back in both their praise and their criticism.
Heavenly father, thank you for Coach B and his excitement and broad smile. Here is a young man who has dedicated himself to his job and shows your Son's attribute of humility and servanthood in his tremendous respect for his head coach. We are never more Christlike than when we prefer others and subordinate our will to them. Father, bless Coach B and his wife as they pursue the noble purpose of adopting children.
What greater gift of love could they offer than to take an orphan and give it new life in a home with parents who love you. It's just what you did through the suffering of your son, Jesus. Go before them in this whole process and cause the road to be straight and smooth. Where the road gets rough, give them the fortitude and stamina to keep their eyes set only on you as they trudge forward.
Lord, my son loves both of these coaches and especially Coach Daniels.
Thank you for a living example of courage and strength for my son to look to as he becomes a man. Thank you for a man who gets down in the trenches and battles it out along side his players. Thank you for a man of integrity and passion, who cares about every aspect of his players lives. Lord, he has a young family and needs to make the most of every minute of every day. Bless him and his wife as they raise their little ones, future gym rats. Give them times of great bonding that generates wonderful memories that those little girls will cherish for the rest of their lives. Give Coach wisdom in raising up his kids in the way that they should go so that when they older they will not depart form that way.
Finally, Lord, I ask you to forgive me. I have expressed to these men that my only concern is that they lead my son closer to You.
Ocassionally, I forget that and try to step in with my two cents, which isn't even worth that much. Help me to be diligent in prayer for them.
As parents, we have placed our son into their care and guidance and we trust them, Lord, because they trust in You. Thank you that you have given these coaches hearts that follow your word where it says, "Greater love has no man than this, than that he would lay down his life for his friends." I believe that these two men would do just that for my son and the other boys in their care. Give them strength and wisdom in the coming weeks as the season winds to a close and bless them beyond measure for their sacrifices of love. I hold them up to you and pray all of these things in the name of Jesus, Amen.

I'll shout an AMEN! to that as well! That was great!
Thank God for good Christian fathers that know the value of prayer, devotion to their family and walking in the way of the Lord!!! May his words of encouragement help Coach Nicol and Coach Daniels continue to serve their young team members in training them up to be leaders for the Lord as well as leaders on the basketball court. Love, Mom Meyers
